Some things I love to do.
Growing up, being a very artistically inclined child, I got to express my emotions and explore my talents at a very young age. Having very supportive parents and being a passionate individual I did everything I could to master my skills.
Starting off with ballet classes at age 5 at the Russian Ballet School, gave me a solid foundation that boosted my confidence to explore other styles like contemporary and Ballroom Latin, which I found to be my favourite one yet, going on to win a gold at the national ballroom competition conducted by the UKA. All this while I auditioned to be part of an established dance company and successfully became a company dancer for 8 years. After 3 years of dancing professionally, I was promoted to being an instructor, at first teaching children Ballet and contemporary and then moving on to becoming an assistant choreographer in 3 major productions that toured nationally. Performing gives me great joy and being on stage feels like a natural calling.
My art on the other hand was always something I did on the side that kept me occupied. Growing up a single child with not many friends I would always be in my room sketching something I thought was interesting which was a lot of trees or dogs… but I gradually realized I was passionate about it and started looking into art colleges to refine my skill. Doing my bachelor’s degree in sculpture made me the person i am today. It taught me life lessons the hard way and really made me appreciate the skill and talent that I possess. Now having the experience and skill that I acquired I now do commissioned work and always find time to paint for myself.
“If I could say it in words there would be no reason to paint.”
- Edward Hopper
“The object of art is not to reproduce reality, but to create a reality of the same intensity.” - - Alberto Giacometti
“All that is important is this one moment in movement. Make the moment important, vital, and worth living. Do not let it slip away unnoticed and unused.”
― Martha Graham
“Do it big; do it right; and do it with style.” —Fred Astaire
“You have to love dancing to stick to it. It gives you nothing back, no manuscripts to store away, no paintings to show on walls and maybe hang in museums, no poems to be printed and sold, nothing but that single fleeting moment when you feel alive.”—Merce Cunningham
